About Me

Meet Minnie,

Minnie is a young Trailhound and is very much a blank canvas when it comes to life.  She has had limited exposure to the big wide world after a short career in Cumbria as a racing trailhound.  She decided the pet life was more suited to her and this little lady came down to WARS to begin finding her forever family.  Minnie is very people orientated; she is tactile and affectionate and adores attention!  Minnie is learning basic manners with meeting new people as she does want to jump up to say hello and wrap her paws around you, Minnie is will need to be treated like a puppy in her new home and learn all also training such as house training and lead skills.

Minnie is part of the hound breed group, so therefore she really enjoys company and would benefit from living with a well established dog in her new home, to show her the ropes in her new environment.  This will also help with company when home alone.  We would need to do a meet first at the shelter to ensure the dogs get along well.

Minnie will need a home where her time alone is built up gradually starting with 2 hours while she settled into a routine and continues her training.

Minnie may be able to live with cats, if the right home came along, but we would need to cat test a little further and because of her limited exposure in the big world and not having lived as a pet before, would be better suited to living with older children 10+.

Before applying for Minnie, we would recommend you read more about her breed here -> Lakeland Trailhound Welfare » Frequently Asked Questions
