About Me

Meet Sully,

Sully is everyone’s best friend, he is full of joy and eager to please his handler. Sully is a Cockador. Therefore a working Cocker Spaniel mixed with a Labrador, both gun dogs and high energy breeds. Sully’s drive to do activities and jobs is very high, he isn’t your classic cuddle on your sofa type of dog. His brain goes at 100mph and that is the reasons why he is with us. Picking a breed that matches your lifestyle is vital for it to be a successful match.

Although Sully has been with us for a couple of weeks, only now have we started to advertise him. We have done a lot of training work with Sully and to get him to a stage where he could enter a home. However, those looking to rehome him must have prior experience with good current dog training science, ie. positive reinforcement, clicker training, all things vital to keep this boy on the right track. Sully is very eager to please and fun to train, he has a smart brain in his head and just needs to right guidance on how to use it.

Sully is a medium sized dog but he can be a very powerful on the lead, those looking to rehome him must be secure on their feet and ready and able to walk long distances. Although Sully likes to be out and about sniffing and covering long distances, he also requires more than just physical exercise.  for example, things like scatter feeding in the garden, the use of enrichment feeders, puzzle feeders, kongs and snuffle matts are a must to keep Sullys brain exhausted and therefore entertained.

Although Sully has no malice in him whatsoever he does not understand his own size and body weight when bashing in to you. Therefore if there are children in the home that he is going to, they must be 16+ and have experience with excitable dogs. Sully cannot be left for longer than 4 hours.

Sully could live with another suitable dog if they can cope with his energy. Sully could possibly live with a confident cat, although he hasn’t been cat tested, Sully’s nature is very innocent. His two goals in life are TENNIS BALLS and FOOD. If someone suitable were to apply who have cats that could cope with Sully’s energy levels then we could cat test sully.

We are really looking forward to showing someone all the training we have done with Sully and how far he has come and we look forward to see how far he can progress in the future.
