Please note: Due to Covid-19 we are not currently accepting any fostering applications. We are unable to process these applications and send any of our animals on foster at this current time. Thank you for your support and please do get in touch if you are still interested in fostering when this situation is over.
We are always looking for fosters to take our dogs or cats from the shelter and offer them a temporary home whilst we look for their new forever home. Reasons that we look for a foster home for animals are :
- If the animal is not coping well in a kennel or cattery environment
- Recovering from a operation
- May have health issues which are exasperated in a kennel or cattery environment
- Are too old or too young to be at the shelter
- Are pregnant or nursing
To be a fosterer for WARS you don’t need vast experience with animals however you must be realistic and practical in the fact that you are able to offer the time and care to the animal that they require. Qualities we look for in a fosterer are:
An animal lover
Empathetic to all animals
Understanding and patient
Dedicated to offering the best care for our animals
WARS staff will always be on hand throughout any foster, to offer advice and training if and where required.
Fosterer’s will be provided with all information on any animal they are taking on, including their behavioural assessment and any training plans for the animal. We will also supply you with relevant equipment such as bowls, beds, collars, leads and food.
If you are interested in becoming a fosterer, fantastic and thank you! Please contact the shelter on 01905 831651 or fill out the form below and return it to us.
