Flash finds himself at WARS after being retired from racing. He is still pretty young with plenty of energy and a spring in his step.
He can be a little nervous sometimes when he meets new people or in a new environment, but once he has gained in confidence his personality starts to show through. He is truly a gentle giant who loves head rubs and a good lean on your legs. He is settling in well to life in the kennels so far and is enjoying getting to know some of the volunteers and enjoy walks with some of our other dogs.
An ideal home for Flash would be with a family with children aged 14+. He could possibly live with another suitable dog however no cats or small furries.
His new family will need to understand that it may take him some time to settle in and that he has never been in a house before so some basic training will be beneficial. It will all be worth it in the end.
Flash is a bit of a nervous boy who is a bit sensitive to scary environment and needs a calm household. He is also very dependent on people and needs a home where someone is always at home. An alternative to this is placing Flash in a home with an existing dog. It is nice to have a needy dog who just wants affection and love however, but it can be hard work if you live a lifestyle where a dog would be left alone often.
Flash is a greyhound that has previously been raced. Greyhounds themselves tend to be quiet and calm, enjoying the creature comforts of home mixed with a few walks here and there. Flash is no different. He like most greyhounds is rather sensitive and docile so will need to be trained with a calm and light hand with plenty of praise over vocal correction.
