Recruitment advertisement for a full-time Shelter Manager  

 

Worcestershire Animal Rescue Shelter (WARS) is a registered Charity occupying a 6 acre site in Newland near Malvern in Worcestershire. 

 

We have an opportunity for a full-time Shelter Manager reporting to the Board of Trustees at our Rescue and Rehoming Shelter for dogs and cats.  You will need a relevant animal care qualification combined with essential business management experience and experience in managing a team.  An understanding of the Charity Sector is essential.  On-site accommodation may be available.    

 

Main responsibilities to include:  Overall responsibility for all kennel and cattery activity, administration processes and the staff and volunteer team.  To ensure the maintenance and security of the site.  To ensure legal requirements are met and kept under review for matters of Health and safety, employment law and animal welfare legislation.  To foster good relations in the community, with the media and corporate links.   To increase visitor numbers to the Shelter. To work closely with the Volunteer Fundraising Manager to increase financial support.

- Basic book keeping skills

Recruitment advertisement for a full-time Kennel & Cattery Supervisor

 

Worcestershire Animal Rescue Shelter (WARS) is a registered Charity occupying a 6 acre site in Newland near Malvern in Worcestershire. 

 

We have a new opportunity for a full-time Kennel & Cattery Supervisor reporting to our Shelter Manager at our Rescue and Rehoming Shelter for dogs and cats.  You will need a relevant animal care qualification combined with experience in caring for animals in either a commercial boarding or rescue organisation.  Supervisory experience is essential.    On site accommodation may be available.

 

Duties to include:  To ensure an excellent quality of care in all aspects of kennel and cattery management. Supervision of a team of Animal Welfare Assistants, volunteers and work experience students. 

Co-ordinate and execute individual animal care plans to include dietry requirements, socialisation and behavioural training plans and regular health checks.  Maintain and review animal assessments, veterinary records and associated administration processes.  Editorial responsibility of animal rehoming and foster scheme promotion.  Co-ordinate vet and home visits, stock control and order process.  Deputise in the absence of the Shelter Manager.

 Feline Welfare vounteer wanted

Reporting to: Resonsible member of staff

Location: Onsite in cattery

Working hours: TBC between 8:30am and 11:00am every Friday

The responsbilities of this post are:-
- Maintain high levels of cleanliness and efficiency throughout the cattery.                                                                                         

- Carry out all cattery duties to the best of your abilities inculding feeding, cleaning and medicating of all cats and general housekeeping.   

- General administration support with day to day paperwork and record keeping.                                                                                 

- Communicate effictively with the responsible member of staff with regards to any issues, problems or complaints that may occur on a day to day basis.

- Communicate with the public in a polite and professional manner, providing all required information.                                        

- Ensure all health and saftey processes and procedures are followed.                                                                                                   

- Maintain good working relations with all staff and vounteers and third party suppliers where applicable.                                 

- Attend all scheduled appraisals and reviews.
